Between February 1968 and October 1969, three young women were murdered in Glasgow after nights out at the Barrowland Ballroom. All three were married mothers. All three were strangled with their own stockings. All three had, per the coroner, been menstruating. The killer was seen — properly seen — only once, by the sister of his final victim. She sat next to him in a taxi for over half an hour. She listened to him quote scripture. Her description built one of the most famous police sketches in British history. And in more than 55 years since, that sketch has never been matched to a name. .
