The Tamers follows Lotus Tamer, an eleven-year-old girl who runs the family creature-taming business in the 0.3 — a world built to keep magic and technology in perfect balance, safe from the screen-addled 2.0. Armed with a magic whip, a wise half-robot owl named Salomon, and Sao, a lazy little dragon who is an inexhaustible source of terrible ideas, Lotus answers calls from townsfolk plagued by all manner of odd creatures. She never burns her problems; she tames them — usually discovering that the monster of the week just wants to be understood. A comedy-fantasy adventure for ages 10–15.

Tamers Inc.'s slacker dragon Sao nearly hangs up on a client before Lotus grabs the call. Miss Shauna has a shame elf loose in her house, hours before her family arrives for dinner. Lotus takes the job — even though no one at the office knows what a shame elf is.

Salomon projects everything he can find: a giggling pink menace that loves children, never misses, and has never been tamed. With no spell that fits, Grandma loads Lotus's whip with an anti-joke charm instead. It's the best they can do, and the team heads out half-blind.

Miss Shauna's home is a full circus — a warped jingle, whirling junk, and Fifi the poodle balancing on a giant beach ball. Lotus whips the spell out of the dog and he snaps back to normal. But the culprit is nowhere in sight, and the rest of the house is still spinning.

Lotus cracks the whip through the chaos, dropping the room back to normal one object at a time. A painted cannon folds into a doghouse — with Miss Shauna crammed inside, dressed as a cannonball. Freed, she can only point up at the bullet-shaped hat still stuck on her head.

Lotus whips the hat and it bursts into the shame elf — who promptly bursts into tears. He's not a shame elf, he insists, but a comedian shame elf, and Lotus just wrecked the show he'd planned for the kids. The creature she came to tame is now weeping at her feet.

Instead of caging him, Lotus hands the elf his stage. His terrible knock-knock joke lands and four kids collapse laughing. Sao still wants the fire whip, but at the 0.3 they don't burn problems — they tame them. Then the office phone starts ringing again.
