Zachariah Mendoza, entrepid and blacklisted scientist and explorer, wants nothing more than to be left alone. After what happened on Cepheus Prime, he has no desire to ever return to the planet. But the Ministry of Man has other plans for him. He's been given the impossible task of solving a mysterious epidemic known as the Temporal Virus that has plagued the planet, one that reverses the very flow of time. Now Zachariah must race against the clock, literally, and face his past if he is to succeed. The Ministry does not tolerate failure. If he does, the Temporal Virus will be the least of his concerns.
