Tarzan
Book Adaptations
12 Episodes
In 1888, an English lord and his wife are marooned on the African coast after a mutiny. They build a cabin in the jungle, but both die within a year of their son’s birth. The infant is adopted by Kala, a grieving female ape, and raised among the tribe as Tarzan. As he grows, Tarzan discovers his parents’ cabin and teaches himself to read, becoming something neither ape nor man. After Kala is killed by colonial hunters, Tarzan avenges her, defeats the ape king Kerchak, and claims the jungle as his own. When a second expedition arrives carrying Jane Porter, Tarzan is drawn to her — leaving notes, gifts, and eventually saving her life. They share a brief, wordless connection before the ship returns to take her home. Tarzan watches from the shore as she disappears over the horizon, then turns back into the jungle alone.
